KITAP is a permanent residency for foreigners living in Indonesia, that allows them to stay for 5 years, can be extended and turned into a life-long status.
Permanent residency can be received by:
- spouses of Indonesia citizens that have been married for 2+ years and have had KITAS 5 years in a row. Spouses who have been married for 10 years receive life-long KITAP.
- Foreign investors or main investor of PT PMA company. An employee below a company director or commissioner cannot apply for KITAP.
- Retirees (55 years and above) that have had KITAS for retirees for 5 years in a row.
- Employees who have been working in one company for over 4 years.
- People who used to have Indonesian citizenship and would like to receive Indonesian citizenship again.
