Newborn Registration
If your child is born in Indonesia, you will have to register them in the local immigration center.
The process of newborn registration includes:
- receiving a birth paperwork from the hospital;
- receiving an Indonesian birth certificate at Catatan Sipil registration department;
- receiving your child’s international passport in your country’s consulate;
- registering your child with the immigration service.
You need to register your child and put them on the mother’s visa. Either of the parents can do that; child’s presence isn’t mandatory.
IMPORTANT: you have to register your child within 60 days of birth and put them on the mother’s visa. If you miss the 60-days mark, the following days will count as overstay. A fine for each overstayed day is 1 000 000 IDR.
Fee for the local birth certificate: 2.500.000 IDR
Fee for immigration registration: 1.000.000 IDR
